After you cancel
- Keep the confirmation email or take a screenshot. It is the only evidence you have.
- Most subscriptions run until the end of the period you have already paid for — cancelling is usually not the same as an immediate refund.
- Check your next statement. A cancellation that did not register looks identical to one that did until the charge arrives.
Do not use a bank block or a chargeback as a way to cancel. Blocking a payment does not end a contract: the subscription usually stays active, the amount owed can keep accruing, and the account can end up with a collections agency. Block via Your Bank or PayPal
A bank block or a chargeback is not a way to cancel. Blocking the payment does not end the contract — the subscription usually stays active and the amount owed can keep building, sometimes ending up with a collections agency. A chargeback is a dispute process for charges you never authorised.
If you have cancelled and are still being charged, the order is: contact the provider in writing and keep the confirmation; if that fails, raise it with the consumer authority for your country (linked from our country pages); and only where the charge is genuinely unauthorised, raise a dispute with your card issuer.
